How it Works
A Clear, Supportive Path to Care - Built for First Responders
Getting started at Valor Ridge is designed to be straightforward, respectful, and confidential.
Our virtual mental health programs are built with first responders at the center, while also welcoming select non–first responders when clinically appropriate. All care is delivered through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth.
Valor Ridge is actively working toward licensure in all 50 states and expanding insurance acceptance nationwide. Program availability is based on state licensure and insurance requirements at the time of care.
-
The first step is to complete a brief, confidential intake form.
This allows our admissions team to understand:
Whether you are a first responder or non–first responder
Your state of residence
Which program may be the best clinical fit
Submitting an intake request does not commit you to treatment. Submit your intake here. Questions? Contact us HERE.
-
After your intake form is received, a member of our admissions or clinical team will contact you to complete a screening.
This step helps determine:
The appropriate level of care (Virtual IOP or Virtual Outpatient)
Clinical needs and treatment goals
Group and program fit
Eligibility based on state licensure
Valor Ridge prioritizes first responders. Non–first responders are accepted into select programs when clinically appropriate and therapeutically aligned.
-
If you plan to use insurance, our admissions team will verify benefits prior to enrollment.
Valor Ridge is actively expanding insurance acceptance across programs and states. Coverage varies by plan, state, and level of care.
We commonly work with plans that may include:
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Aetna
Cigna
UnitedHealthcare
Select employer-sponsored and union plans
Insurance coverage is not guaranteed and is determined by the insurance carrier. Private pay options are available.
-
Because telehealth services are regulated at the state level, clients must be physically located in a state where Valor Ridge is licensed at the time of care.
Valor Ridge currently serves clients in select states and is actively working toward licensure in all 50 states.
State eligibility is confirmed during the intake and screening process. If services are not yet available in your state, our admissions team can discuss future availability as expansion continues.
-
Once program fit, licensure eligibility, and coverage are confirmed:
Enrollment details are provided
Your program schedule is finalized
Telehealth access instructions are shared
You receive orientation to program structure and expectations
All programs are delivered virtually using a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
-
You will begin participating in your assigned program:
Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): A structured program with multiple sessions per week for individuals needing a higher level of support.
Virtual Outpatient Program: Ongoing therapeutic support with flexible scheduling for continued care.
All care is trauma-informed, structured, and designed to fit real lives and real responsibilities.
Nationwide Expansion Commitment
Valor Ridge is intentionally building a national virtual mental health program for first responders.
We are actively:
Pursuing licensure across all 50 states
Expanding insurance participation
Increasing access to trauma-informed care nationwide
Program availability depends on state licensure and insurance requirements at the time of enrollment.
