Justin Baker
Justin Baker brings nearly two decades of law enforcement experience and extensive military service to his advisory role at Valor Ridge. His perspective is shaped by years of frontline leadership, operational discipline, and firsthand exposure to high-stress and high-risk environments.
Justin has served as a Law Enforcement Officer for 19 years, currently working as a police officer in the state of Indiana. For 11 of those years, he has served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), mentoring and developing new officers as they transition into active duty. His work as an FTO reflects a strong commitment to leadership, accountability, and the long-term wellbeing of those entering the profession.
In addition to his patrol and training responsibilities, Justin has been a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor for four years, contributing to officer education, skills development, and professional standards. His instructional background highlights his ability to lead under pressure while fostering competence, confidence, and resilience in others.
Prior to his law enforcement career, Justin served eight years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman, including 4.5 years as a Sergeant, and completed a combat tour in Afghanistan. His military service continues to inform his understanding of trauma, leadership, and the lasting psychological impact of service.
As an Advisor to Valor Ridge, Justin provides critical insight into the realities of law enforcement and military culture, helping ensure that programs are practical, credible, and responsive to the needs of first responders and veterans. His guidance supports Valor Ridge’s mission to deliver trauma-informed care that honors service while promoting long-term resilience and recovery.
