Confidentiality Statement

Your Privacy Matters at Valor Ridge

Valor Ridge is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all individuals who engage in our services. Confidentiality is foundational to effective mental health care and central to how we operate as an organization.

All services are provided in accordance with applicable federal and state laws governing privacy and protected health information.

Protection of Your Information

Information shared with Valor Ridge during intake, treatment, or communication with our team is treated as confidential and protected under applicable privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

We take appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal and health information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Use of Telehealth & Confidentiality

Valor Ridge provides services through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms.

While telehealth allows for flexible and accessible care, confidentiality also depends on each client’s environment. Clients are encouraged to:

  • Participate in sessions from a private location

  • Use secure, personal devices when possible

  • Avoid public or shared spaces during sessions

Our clinicians take reasonable steps to ensure privacy on their end of all virtual interactions.

When Information May Be Shared

Confidential information is not shared without client authorization except in limited circumstances permitted or required by law, including but not limited to:

  • When there is a risk of serious harm to the client or others

  • Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult

  • Court orders or other legal requirements

  • Coordination of care with authorized providers, when consent has been given

Only the minimum necessary information is disclosed in these situations.

Group Therapy & Confidentiality

Some programs at Valor Ridge include group therapy.

While clinicians uphold confidentiality standards, group members are also expected to respect the privacy of others. However, confidentiality in group settings cannot be guaranteed, as other participants are not bound by the same legal requirements.

Group confidentiality expectations are reviewed during program orientation.
